Oregon Health Plan (OHP) is making changes to meet new federal rules. Here is what OHP members need to know now:
New work or activity rules will be required for some adults ages 19–64 starting January 1, 2027 when they apply for or renew coverage. These rules apply only to some members, and many exemptions exist, including pregnancy, disability-based eligibility, Medicare enrollment, and other qualifying situations. Members can meet the requirement by showing work hours, school enrollment, volunteer work or by meeting an exemption when they first apply or reenroll.

How to prepare
If you are affected by these changes, you should receive a notice. The most important step right now is keeping your contact information up to date, so you don’t miss renewal letters or other updates.
Informational notices will start going out this month to about 600,000 OHP members. No action is required, but OHA encourages all members to ensure their contact information is current, so they receive future communications.
